As promised, I am revealing the identity of the knitting celeb!
LILY CHIN! LILY CHIN!
What a lovely and gracious person she is. Every nice thing you hear about her is true!
This is the back view of my Mitered Square Cardi that I ordered from Shadyside Farm.
I think I could make this the front of a sweater also!
This the the front of the Mitered Square Cardi. The nice folks at Shadyside Farm are dying yarn for my kit the special shade of green, as it was unavailable at the show. Can't wait! That yarn is as soft as it looks!
Here is a display of their beautiful Shadyside Farm yarns.
This is the novel and pretty knitted scarf tubing from Habu Textiles that I brought home with me.

STITCHES REPORT 2005 PART ONE:
I AM SHOUTING WITH JOY AFTER ALL THE FUN I HAD AT THIS YEAR'S BIG EVENT.
I MET MY LOVELY AKSP, JUDITH, AND I HAD MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH A FIBER WORLD CELEBRITY, ALL IN THE SAME DAY. CAN YOU GUESS WHO?
MY FAVORITE VENDOR HAD TO BE SHADYSIDE FARM BECAUSE I ORDERED A MITERED SQUARE CARDI KIT FROM THEM WITHIN MINUTES OF MY ARRIVAL ON THE FLOOR! I HAVE BOUGHT FROM THEM IN THE PAST, AND I WILL TELL YOU THAT THEIR ANGORA AND MOHAIRS, AS WELL AS THEIR BASIC WOOLS, ARE SCRUMPTIOUS!
MY DEAR FRIEND, JEANIE AND I, SCOPED OUT THE FIBERWARES, PATTERNS, AND ALL THE FABULOUS SHAWLS, PONCHOS, AND SWEATERS WORN BY OUR FELLOW KNITTERS. LOTS OF USE OF NOVELTY YARNS INCORPORATED INTO DESIGNS, ALL VERY TASTEFULLY DONE. LOTS OF CROCHET AND KNITTING PATTERN COMBOS FOR NECK WEAR.
WE COULD BARELY WALK WHEN IT WAS TIME TO LEAVE, SO BURDONED WITH LOVELY PACKAGES WERE WE!
PUSSY CAT2 HAD VERY WHIMSICAL PURSE KITS. MY FAVORITE WAS THE CANDY CORN BAG!
2 OLD BAGS HAS BEEN MY ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE FOR NEW FELTING PATTERNS. I BOUGHT. IT'S TRADITION!
NOT JUST PLAIN JANE WAS A FEAST FOR THE EYES!
ALWAYS LOVE HABU TEXTILES. THEY ARE VERY INNOVATIVE!
ANN AND EUGENE ARE BOTH VERY WARM PEOPLE. I WON A SHAWL KIT OF THEIRS LAST WEEK WHEN I WAS TAKING A 2 HANDED KNITTING CLASS AT KRAEMER'S YARN SHOP BEING TAUGHT BY ANN AND EUGENE. HOW LUCKY CAN YOU GET?

TAKE ME HOME!
WHAT I DID OVER THE WEEKEND!
I attended the GARDEN STATE SHEEP BREEDER'S 11TH ANNUAL SHEEP AND FIBER FESTIVAL in Ringoes, New Jersey with my son, who loves all things animal. I have faithfully attended yearly since discovering it in 2001.
Despite the awful humidity on Saturday, I made a noble effort to touch and buy, hence adding to MY STASH.
YES! YES! YES! I KNOW! STITCHES IS ONLY A FEW SHORT DAYS AWAY!
HOWEVER, I JUSTIFY THESE PURCHASES AS DOING MY PART TO HELP SUPPORT THE FARMING AND FIBER COMMUNITY!
AND, I DID! I HAVE THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT, TOO!
LET THE YARN SHOPPING BEGIN!
THE SPINNERY BOOTH
VERY NICE FOLKS! WILL BE VISITING THEIR SHOP DEFINITELY!

MUST GET BACK TO KNITTING BABY BLANKET!
Wednesday, September 07, 2005
Been very busy knitting the yellow feather and fan circular baby blanket and the sage dishcloth. Halfway finished with both. Pictures to follow soon!
So...... this is what I have waiting in the wings to finish:
HE'S A LITTLE BIT SONNY!
Had lots of laughs making him during last month's Saturday morning felting class at Kraemer's Yarn Shop, in Nazareth, Pa. I plan to take the pumpkin needle felting class too.
Sunday, September 04, 2005
Spent the time preparing for back-to-school and enjoying what was left of summer vacation this past week, with a smidge of knitting thrown in for good measure.
I have been knitting the baby blanket seen in the background of the Hailey sweater pattern offered from WWW.Yarnforward.Com.
Carol, who is staff from the yarn shop, was so nice to respond to my inquiry, and informed me this pattern is an out-of-print Paton's pattern, so was unable to obtain it for me. Nonetheless, I think I can create something similar by combining the Round Pinwheel Baby Blanket from WWW.Knitlist.Com , and edging it in several rounds of Feather and Fan once I hit 180 stitches.
I really should take the time to write out my version of this blanket pattern, as well as the Baby Feather and Fan Sweatercoat I made first.
Maybe in the not so distant future.....
On the needles also is a Feather and Fan dishcloth for my friend, Sandy, in the color sage. I am knitting it from the Sugar and Cream Cotton stash, which I purchased in many colors for 99 cents during Michaels and AC Moore sales this summer.
Still working on the finishing touches on "Sonny's" felted face.
GETTING PSYCHED FOR UPCOMING STITCHES 2005!!!!
