AND THE WINNER IS......

Last week I sponsored a little contest which had, you, Gentle Knitter, guessing the coin amount in my MS&WF bowl. The sum, when counted by may bank's change sorter, was (TA-DA!!) $57.43!

Out of 31 responders, the two people who came the closest without going over were Stitchin' Girl and Amy! Congrats, guys! You'll each be receiving a paperback copy of Debbie's book! Just email me your snail mail addresses and I 'll get them off to you right a way! I have to offer a nod to Ozlynda for her guess of $ 57.75. OUCH! So close but sadly over shot by 32 cents!
Meanwhile, how about everyone go visit their blogs to say "Hi!"
And thanks to all who took the time to play along! I'm enjoying my visits to all your blogs!

Needless to say, $57.43 wasn't the amount that I went to the festival with!

I only bought 2 patterns, which was a big surprise to me. My plan had been to be on the lookout for ways to knit up that stash of mine! I think the Whirly Gig will make a bit of a dent in it, though! How do you like the Swirl shawl? I spied it online somewhere recently so was thrilled to stumble across it at the festival. I'm fascinated with oddly shaped designs, despite having a struggle with geometry in high school. Way back when.

I decided to permit myself some indulgences this time. Glass circular knitting needles, size 6 and a skein of lovely cashmere. I'm living large, folks, and I don't mean my dress size!

Here's everything that I unpacked this morning. Best deals were that bag of several skeins of homespun wool (very soft!) for $9 and the ball of pink Rowan Big Wool for 5 bucks! This redhead/ auburn is going to be sporting a pink hat this year! The Color Me Beautiful Book be damned! Also, those skeins resting on the back of the love seat cost $4.50 each on sale but were originally over $12! Merino, alpaca, and silk! Could they had fallen off the back of a truck? I felt like I was stealing! Some other purchases came from Tess Yarns and Blue Moon.

That's it until next time. I'll go knit a bit of sweater sleeve now.....

For your sake, I'm glad my guess was way under. What a great haul and definitely bargains.

Dang, that I went over.
It was a book I would love to have.

What a great haul you got. Have loads of fun and I too like the odd shapes in designs, but I guess I am quirky too.

What a score. I can't wait to hear how the glass needles knit. They are quite beautiful but I would probably break the things I am such a klutz. Gorgeous yarn. You are a lucky girl.

I didn't see your contest post, until today, but I was only going to guess about 25-30 dollars. Those change containers can hold more than you think! LOL!
